2. Complete the application form.

Eligibility

Must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of New Brunswick as defined in the NB Fish and Wildlife Act. First-time applicants must successfully complete the guide exam at a DNR office.

Fees

Guide II License: $7.50
Replacement License: $5.25

Validity

Guide Licenses expire on December 31 each year.

Instructions

• The holder of a License to Accompany may hunt or fish while guiding but can only guide one client at a time. Special rules also apply to guides when accompanying clients who choose to fish from a boat.

Need for the Document

As a general rule, the NB Fish and Wildlife Act requires that non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide to hunt game species or to fish for Atlantic Salmon. The Guide II License (License to Accompany) is designed for those who wish to provide a no-fee or no-reward guiding service to a visiting non-resident friend or relative.
