You may request for a copy of a certificate of unmarried partnership online using your DigiD.

By Mail

1. Complete an Application form for certificate of unmarried partnership.
2. After completing and signing the form, send it to the Department of Public Service together with a copy of your valid form of identification.

In Person

Obtain a copy of a certificate of unmarried partnership in person at a Department of Public Service counter at one of The Hague's district offices. For this you will need to present a valid form of identification.

You can set up an appointment online to request for the certificate.

The Department of Public Service (Publiekszaken) is located in the City Office at Leyweg 813, 2545 HA The Hague.

The Department of Public Service is also present at all the city district offices and the Immigration Office.

You can request a copy of a certificate of unmarried partnership if it concerns your own certificate of unmarried partnership. It is also possible to request a copy for someone else. Click link to know more.

Fees

Certificate of unmarried partnership: 12.50

If you apply for the certificate online, you will pay this amount directly through iDeal. You can only pay by bank card at the district offices; however, you can also pay cash, as well as by bank card, at the Centrum district office (City Hall).

Postage costs are added for requests in writing. You will receive an invoice for the total amount.

Processing Time

• Online: You will receive the copy or extract after 3 working days.
• By Mail: You will receive the certificate after 10 working days.
• In Person: At the Department of Public Service counter, you will get the copy or extract of marriage certificates issued after 1986 right away. You will receive certificates from before 1986 after 5 working days.

Certified copy

A copy of the certificate comes with a stamp and a signature from the Registry Office. This is also known as a certified, official or authenticated copy.

If you need a copy in another language, then you will need to have it translated by a sworn translator.

Notes:

• You can only request a copy of a certificate of unmarried partnership in The Hague if the unmarried partnership was registered in The Hague.
• For those who would like to request a copy of a foreign certificate of unmarried partnership, this is only possible if you have had it registered with the Registry Office of the Municipality of The Hague
