Netherlands - Obtain Certificate of Registered Partnership
ProcedureEdit
- Submit a request to obtain a copy of the Certificate of Registered Partnership from the municipality where the document was drawn up.
- Pay the application fee and wait for instructions from the Registrar regarding when can you comeback to collect the certificate.
- Issuance of the certificate. An official copy of a civil status record takes the form of a photocopy of the document in question. The photocopy bears a stamp and the signature of a Registrar of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Registered Partnerships. Note: if a registered partnership is annulled, an endorsement is added to the certificate.
If you are outside the Netherlands
You still can request a civil status record extract if you are a Dutch national living abroad and are no longer listed in the Personal Records Database (BRP). You need to apply to the municipality where the record was drawn up.
Required DocumentsEdit
Valid Identification: The following are valid identity documents in the Netherlands:
- a Dutch passport or a passport or identity card of a country belonging to the EU or the EEA. Passports of all other countries must contain *a valid residence sticker;
- a Dutch identity card;
- a refugee travel document issued by the Dutch authorities;
- an aliens travel document issued by the Dutch authorities
- a residence permit or leave to remain card (W-document);
- a driving licence (in some cases).

- person whose name appears on the certificate?
- an authorised representative;
- anyone with a legitimate interest in the record, for example someone who needs it for use in legal proceedings.
