Nepal - Apply for Smart Card License
ProcedureEdit
- Download the application form from: https://thehimalayantimes.com/nepal/smart-card-system-issue-driving-license-across-country/
- Fill up the application form correctly
- Provide your thumb fingerprint and your recent passport-size photo
- Submit your paid voucher for the health examination
- Submit the properly filled form to the Department of transport management.
- Give your written exam on the day you are asked to.
- You have to go with your original citizenship, entry letter, and paid voucher to give the exam.
- Usually the trial exam will be on the very morning (the next day of the written exam). The trial exam is allowed if you pass the written one.
- After passing both exams, the traffic examiner will give you a date on which you have to go to Ekantakuna.
- Fill out a form for a smart card, get a receipt, and get your smart card license.
Note: DOTM only accepts Online Driving License Forms in Nepal for new applications.

- Receipt of paid revenue
- Original citizenship and its copy. In the case of non-Nepali (foreigners), photocopy of passport.
- Certificate of driving training from a certified driving school (Compulsory for 4 wheels and optional for 2 wheels)

- Need to be more than age 18.
FeesEdit
For motorcycle and scooter Rs. 700/-
Small Vehicles except for motorcycle Rs. 1000/-
Medium Sized vehicles Rs.1500/-
Big Vehicles Rs. 2000/-
In case of adding more than one category in the driving license, the extra cost will be added to the existing fees. To add category:
Small vehicle Rs. 100/-
Medium Vehicle Rs. 250/-
Big vehicle Rs. 500/-
ValidityEdit
This card has 10 years of validity.
