Nagaland - Apply for Food Business Operator (FBO) License

Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant has to approach Health and Family welfare Department to apply for Food Business Operator License.
  2. Link for contact details : link
  3. Get the prescribed form from the concerned office or can be downloaded from the following Link: link
  4. Please make sure you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Please mention the type of food business and all other related information.
  6. Fill the form and attached all required documents
  7. Make the prescribed payment as per their instructions to the authority.
  8. Submit the completed application to the concerned officer.
  9. Authority would start the processing upon the application such as business place inspection and document verification.
  10. Once they get satisfaction, they will provide you the Food Business Operator License.



Apply Online

  1. To Apply for FBO license, you can use the FOSCOS website. Please click the following link:FOSCOS Website
  2. After visiting the link, you have to click the “CLICK HERE FOR FOSCOS" tab.
  3. Click the “Login-Businesses” tab and Under User sign-in Box enter your user name, password and captcha code and Click on the “sign-in” button to login.
  4. If you are a new user, then Click on the Sign up tab and fill all the required details and enter the captcha code and Click on the “Sign up” tab.
  5. After that you will receive a mail and now the username and password will be activated for new users.
  6. After successful log-in, Click on the License/Registration and Select the Apply for License/Registration on the Left menu.
  7. Next select the state from the dropdown list box and read the Note.
  8. Next select the kind of your business and Select your business type from the list of options.
  9. Next Click on the radio button and finally click on the “Proceed” tab.
  10. On the next page, Click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
  11. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required information under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
  12. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
  13. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, Click on the “Save & Next”.
  14. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save & Next”.
  15. Under required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on the “Save & Next”.
  16. Next pay the fees and submit the application.
  17. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it and keep it safe for future reference.
  18. You can track the application through the Home page.
  19. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.



Apply through mobile app:

  1. The applicant willing to Apply for Food Business Operator (FBO) License must download the mobile app Food Safety Connect App.
  2. The applicant can download the app from play store using the following Link: link
  3. Once downloaded, the applicant must click the button “Apply for license” in the main page.
  4. Then the applicant has to select their respective state from the dropdown menu where premises is located for which License/Registration will be obtained.
  5. Next select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of the business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.
  6. On the next page, click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
  7. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required information under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
  8. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
  9. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, click on the “Save & Next”.
  10. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save & Next”.

  • Food Business Operators should particularly display the certificate of registration at the place of business during the business hours.
  • Any FBO without FSSAI licensing is liable to pay penalty for the offenses. The Act is defined OFFENSES AND PENALTIES related to food.
