Mozambique - Export Goods

1.You should start by registering with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In this case,
- You go to the ministry and submit application for registration as a importer accompanied your identification documents, business registration certificate and trading license;
- When the ministry receives the documents, they are examined to assess eligibility;
- After assessment if documents are approved, the ministry issues an identification card authorizing you to carry out foreign trading activities known as the import license;
2.Thereafter you seek assistance in the packaging of exports from the customs authority. In this case,
- Obtain a Customs Packing Assistance Form and fill it carefully and accurately, after filling it make three (3) copies of which you should remain with the original, give a copy to the customs authority and the other copy to the any other person participating in the packaging process. The copy submitted to the customs should be accompanied with a Customs Packing List Form;
- When packaging is done, the Customs officer fills out the Customs Packing Assistance Form (in the fields reserved for official use), signs and stamps all copies, gives the original to the exporter, gives one copy to the other person who participated the packaging and submits the other to Customs.
3.Thereafter you should proceed with declaration and clearing goods at the customs. This is done through Single Electronic Window (SEW) by authorized clearing agents. Therefore at this stage you are required to contract a clearing agent to provide assistance.
- The clearing agent at this stage accesses the Single Electronic Window (SEW) system and submits the customs declaration with support document to Customs;
4.When documents are received, the goods are subjected to Customs Clearance. In this case,
- The documents are examined by the Document Verification Officer and will either be approved or rejected basing on the information provided;
- Basing on the documents submitted, the Point of Entry Officer in the Single Electronic Window (SEW) fills out the fields for means of transport and time of entry t the terminal; and
- The Cargo Terminal Officer updates status of the declaration and other details of the goods in the Single Electronic Window (SEW) System;
5.After clearing goods at the customs, goods are released and can be transported to the market country;
