Once the decree is issued,You will obtains a notification for the Civil Status Department to issue Mozambique birth certificate and an Egyptian identification card.
If the applicant applies for an Mozambique passport, he gets permission for that. Once the application is accepted, a notice will be sent to the applicant with notification of the fingerprints and biometrics appointment which kick starts the journey toward official citizenship.
- Basically, the biometrics are done to prove the identity of the person and to check for criminal records if any.
- All the required evidence should be brought during the time of the interview to provide enough proof and to speed up the process.
- A good knowledge of Local language is very essential which will help while taking up the test and which is mandatory for obtaining citizenship in Mozambique.
The ability to read, write and speak English or any local language will be tested along with the applicant's knowledge of Mozambican history and civics during the interview process.
During the interview process being truthful and honest will definitely push you to the next level in the process of obtaining the Mozambique citizenship.
Being a country with majority of christian they require someone of integrity, honest and Truthful in all the dealings.
After the successful completion of the citizenship test and interview comes the oath of allegiance in competent courts in Mozambique.
This refers to the original ceremony to mark the occasion of getting the citizenship and will be notified through an invitation.
The Egyptian citizenship certificate will be issued as a final mark for accepting you as a citizen of Mozambique. In case of denial, you will not receive any invitation which means that the case is in pending due to some reason in which case you can appeal again for reconsideration.

EligibilityEdit
People who have permanent resident status in the Mozambique can be eligible for citizenship in Mozambique. People born by Mozambican parents or born in the Mozambique by parents of different origin.

The fees charged for the whole process is $130
ValidityEdit
The document is valid for 10 years and renewal is required for more two times and the rest of years you don't need any more renewal.

The application Should be submitted by an adult or by his mother if he/she is a minor.
The following documents should be attached :
- Spouses, widows and widowers of Mozambican citizens (if the applicant is married for at least 7 years.)
- Lawful residents (those who have been ordinarily resident in Mozambique for a period of five years)
- Children and persons with disabilities (made for the biological or legally adopted children of Mozambican citizens)
- Stateless and migrant persons (persons who voluntarily migrated to Mozambique and/or have continuously lived in Mozambique)
- Descendants of stateless and migrant persons (persons who have attained the age of eighteen years and whose parents had voluntarily migrated to Mozambique and or has continuously lived in Mozambique)

- Below the age of eighteen (eighteen) years;
- Has an obligation to choose one citizenship when he / she makes eighteen (18) .

Mozambican Citizenship is based upon the Law of Nationality, of 1975, amended November 1990. So many people experience frustration and disappointment when trying to obtain Mozambique citizenship. Mozambican citizenship can be obtained in three ways - through birth, By Decent and through naturalization. Through birth refers to the people born by Mozambican parents or born in Mozambique. Through naturalization refers to the people who have permanent resident status in the Mozambique and who can apply for citizenship based on their eligibility. By Decent- Child born in Mozambique, at least one of whose parents is a citizen of Mozambique. Child born abroad, whose father is a citizen of Mozambique. (Child of a foreign father and Mozambican mother obtains father's citizenship if child is born abroad.) Child born abroad of a Mozambican mother and an unknown father.

A foreign woman who marries a Mozambican man may register for citizenship immediately.
A foreign man who marries a Mozambican woman must reside in Mozambique for five years before registering for citizenship.
Mozambican citizenship may be acquired upon fulfillment of the following conditions: Person is at least 18 years old, has resided in the country for five years, and has renounced former citizenship.
