Moroccan Residents in private collection areas should contact their Tax agents to file Garbage collection tax returns.The Office of the Tax Collector is responsible for the billing, collection, reporting and enforcement of individual tax accounts and a similar number of sewer usage accounts. Amounts charged and payments made are all individually maintained.

These taxes are traditionally collected from the consumer on behalf of the tax agencies in morocco.The Garbage Tax Collector is responsible for the billing and collection of taxes only.Taxes are billed annually and are based on the current year assessment.
The Bill should be given to the new owner or his paying agent upon sale or exchange of the property. A charge may be imposed for a duplicate tax bill.
If your mortgage company or bank has escrowed for your taxes, the original bill will be sent to them and the "advice copy" will be sent to you. You can also make payments in person, Cash is accepted , check or money order at the Tax Collection Office Hours are: Monday through Friday.8:00am to 4:30pm.
Do not postdate your check.All payments are suppose to be deposited as they are received. There will be a small service charge for all returned checks.
Any municipal charges remaining unpaid by the due dates are delinquent and subject to interest.A grace period not exceeding 10 days is provided. Your payment must be received by the tax office before the end of the grace period to avoid any interest being assessed from the original due date. Applications for tax deductions may be obtained from the office of the Tax Assessor.

Garbage must be placed curbside before 6:00 A.M. on your collection day. Residents must remove empty containers by the evening of their collection day.

Solid waste management is one of the major environmental problems threatening the Mediterranean Kingdom of Morocco.More than five million tons of solid waste is generated across the country every year, with the annual waste generation growth rate touching 3%. The owner of a property is exempt from the garbage collection tax for the first five years. After this period, tax is charged at 10% of the property's annual rental value. Users are charged a fixed rate based on regardless of how much waste they present for collection to the municipality or local authority. Urban communities usually offer curbside collection while rural communities provide drop-off collection service.Most haulers pass the Garbage tax on to customers as part of their trash service bills in form of Tax.
