Morocco - Apply for Emergency Travel Certificate

The first thing is to ensure that you submit two sets of the application:
- a) the original application forms with supporting documents, and
- b) a copy of the completed set.

- You can obtain an ETD at the any foreign Embassy in Rabat, and also at the foreign Honorary Consulates in Marrakech and Agadir.
- You may make an appointment for this service at the Embassy in Rabat, though this is not always necessary. Appointments are not required for ETDs to be issued at the Honorary Consulates.
- If your passport has been stolen you will need a police report before an ETD can be issued.
- A Police Report is required to be signed and duly stamped by the Police Station or Notary Public to confirm certification from the relevant Police Authority where the passport got lost.
- You can make a police report at the nearest police station to the place where your passport was lost or stolen.
- You cannot obtain a police report in a different city. Although a police report is not required in order to obtain an ETD if you have lost your passport, you may require such a report to show the immigration authorities when leaving Morocco.
- A letter of introduction will be issued by the Moroccan Embassy to assist you obtain the ETD. The original copy of this letter should be presented directly to the Moroccan Embassy where you are applying for the ETD.
- Submit a written Report of the Loss of Passport and Police Report for Loss of Passport. To be submitted by applicants who lost their passports and are applying for an Emergency Travel Certificate; loss of your travelling document to the Immigration Office.
- You may get the document on the day you apply if your circumstances are straightforward.It can take longer if your circumstances are more complex. You may need to change your travel plans.
- After getting required information from the issuing Embassy, apply for the ETD through the Morocco Immigration Affairs website.
- Appear at the chosen Moroccan Embassy on the date given to you. Please ensure you are take along with you all the relevant documents needed for the new e-passport.
- You should ask for required information from the Moroccan Embassy issuing the new e-passport before travelling to avoid any delays.
- During the processing of the passport, ensure that your personal information collected by the passport officer is correct.
- During the collection of the passport , also ensure that your personal details appear as it should be on the new passport.
- To ensure good quality scanned signature for laser engraving into the passport, the signature in the signature box on the Emergency Travel Certificate application form should be in the middle of the box and must not touch the sides of the box.
- A medium point ballpoint pen should be used to sign the box]. Please ensure that your mouth is closed and your teeth are not showing on the photo. Passport applications in which the photo and signature images do not meet quality standards will be rejected causing delays in the issuance of Emergency Certificate.
- If there is any mistake, notify the passport officer for rectification before you leave the Embassy or Immigration office.
Husband, wife and children must all complete separate application forms. Both parents and the children concerned must be present when applying for emergency travel certificate for children.

- A schedule of your travel arrangements.
- Return Ticket to Morocco .
- Proof of your Moroccan citizenship in the form your Moroccan identity Card, birth certificate or old passport and a copy thereof
- Two colour photographs that comply with the Passport and ID Photograph Specifications
- Payment of the prescribed fee

- An emergency travel document doesn't guarantee entry to every country.
- You need to apply in person and be bonafide Moroccan citizen.
- The emergency travel document will only be valid for the journey that you specified when you applied and for a specific period of time.
- Your existing Moroccan passport will be cancelled in most cases.
- Immigration authorities may keep your emergency travel document when you arrive at your destination

You can apply for an emergency travel document (sometimes known as an emergency passport) if youre a Moroccan National outside the Morocco and your passport has been lost, stolen, damaged or has expired.The Emergency travel certificate is issued to enable them return to Morocco. You should first try to renew or replace your passport if it has expired or is damaged. Only apply for an emergency travel document if you need to travel before you can get a replacement.It is usually issued for a one-way journey to Morocco
An emergency travel document allows you to leave the country youre in and travel to your destination via a maximum of 5 countries.Applicants for emergency travel certificates must also apply for permanent passports.
