Applying process in Mongolia for citizen and non-citizen.
- a. Apply in-person

- Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
- This application will be processed by respective department.
- The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person upon notification or issued as per norms.
Applying process – overseas for citizen
- a. Apply through representative
- Applicant shall apply through a representative who lives in Mongolia to apply on their behalf at the General Police Office.
- The mandated person should be entrusted with the written authorization.

EligibilityEdit
- Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
- Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
- The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
- Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

InstructionsEdit
Each individual has the right to contact any police station or the judiciary for the purpose of ordering a certificate regarding his or her criminal record, which will be sent according to the law, directly to foreign missions, to missions abroad or to international adoption agencies, depending on the available data.
It is the applicants responsibility to contact the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary police certificates or clearances. Each countrys procedures are different. Applicants may have to apply to more than one level of government or more than one agency - municipal, provincial, state, federal and the police, courts or similar governmental agencies for the police certificate. If a police certificate cannot be obtained from any of the countries on the list, provide a written explanation why and an original letter from the police authority confirming that it will not issue a certificate.
- The original police certificate must be submitted along with the application for permanent residence, and must be accompanied by an English or French translation prepared by an accredited translator.
- You need to pay the fee of 1000 Mongolian Tughrik to obtain an original Mongolian police certificate for local and non-resident requests. Fees are subject to change without notice.
Required InformationEdit
The applicant must provide a full set of his/her fingerprints, preferably taken at their nearest police station. The applicants full name, surname, date of birth, place of birth and identity number must also be recorded on the fingerprint form. A copy of the applicants identity document or passport must accompany the application. The applicant must present their identity document at the police station, as proof of identity will be required.
Need for the DocumentEdit
A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.
Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

Police clearance (Good Conduct) Certificate is an important document which serves as a proof that the person has no criminal record or previously involved in criminal, breach of trust cases or violation of law both in his home country and during his residence in Mongolia. Both locals and expats are supposed to obtain this certificate.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
Everyone who wants to a visa must be of good character and will be assessed against the character requirements. As part of your visa application, you might be required to provide a police clearance certificate or other evidence to satisfy the character requirements.

Resident non-citizens: Certificates can only be issued to non-Mongolian citizens who are living permanently in Mongolia. The General Police office will contact the Mongolian Immigration Agency to ensure your residential permission. You should present your passport and follow procedures as for Mongolian citizens.
