ProcedureEdit

  1. To request for a copy of the marriage certificate, please go to the State Civil Service, present your identity card, family book and payment for the certificate.
  2. If you are unable to obtain the marriage certificate yourself, you may assign somebody else to apply for the procedure for you, by writing a proxy statement and providing all needed documents.
  3. You may also send your request by post. You will need to indicate the name of the spouses, and the wedding date. Do not forget to include a return address where you would like the certificate to be sent. All request must be accompanied by a check payable to "Monsieur le Receveur Municipal". The amount to be paid would depend on the number of certificates being requested (1.50 per certificate plus postage).

EligibilityEdit

You may not only obtain marriage certificates of couples who got married in Monaco but also of Monegasque nationals whose marriage abroad was validated in the Principality and transcribed in the civil registers of the Mayor of Monaco.

Postal Charges for marriages solemnized BEFORE January 1, 2005

Number of certificates being obtained: Total cost = payment for the certificate(s) + postage:

  • 1 certificate: 2.60
  • 2 certificates: 4.65
  • 3 certificates: 6.15
  • 4 certificates or more: call the State Civil Service to inquire about the price


Postal Charges for marriages solemnized AFTER January 1, 2005

Number of certificates being obtained: Total cost = payment for the certificate(s) + postage:

  • 1 certificate: 2.16
  • 2 certificates: 3.66
  • 3 certificates: 5.60
  • 4 certificates or more: call the State Civil Service to inquire about the price


Note: Please contact the State Civil Service to inquire about request coming from outside France.



ValidityEdit

The marriage certificate is valid for three months from the date of issue.
