Monaco - Exchange Your Foreign Drivers License
ProcedureEdit
- To apply for the procedure you need to fill up the application form which can be downloaded on line or obtained from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.
- Once you have completed the application form, submit it along with all other required documents to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office.
- Pay the application fee. Payments accepted: cash, cheques payable in Monaco or France and Visa bank cards only.
- Once the application is approved, the license holder will be able to drive the same vehicle categories as the original.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Original copy of your valid foreign driving licence.
- A certificate or a statement from the issuing country confirming that the right to drive of the license holder has not been suspended or withdrawn. The statement or certificate must not be older than 3 months.
- A copy of your Monegasque ID card or residence card
- An ID photo taken by a professional photographer (sized 33x43mm)
- Additional documents to be submitted for those over the age of 70:
- A medical certificate relating to the driving license category being applied for and a medical report issued by the applicant's doctor in Monaco. The certificate and the report must not be older than 3 months.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant is 18 years old or older and holds a valid driving licenses.
- It is important that the license is issued by a state which:
- Has ratified the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic .
- Is a member state of the European Union (EU) or of the European Economic Area (EEA), or has signed a reciprocal agreement with Monaco.
- The license is in French or, if not, is accompanied by an official translation into French.
