Apply In-Person:
- The applicant has to reach out to USDA-accredited certifying agent for the application. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following Contact Link

- Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
- Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
- The fee for this procedure has been mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
- The farm or business adopts organic methods, chooses a USDA-accredited certifying agent, and sends the certifying agent an application and payment.
- The certifying agent examines the application to ensure that the procedures adhere to USDA organic guidelines.
- An on-site inspection of the applicant's operation is conducted by an inspector.
- The certifying agent looks over the application and the inspector's report to see if the applicant follows USDA organic rules.
- Organic certificates are issued by the certifying agent.
- For the past three years, any area utilised to generate raw organic commodities must have been free of prohibited chemicals.
- Until the entire 36-month transition period has been completed.
