Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Registration of Alienation of Parcel Rights (Sale of Parcels), the applicant has to approach the Registro Agrario Nacional. link
2. Prepare the necessary legal documents, such as a notarized sale agreement or deed, that evidence the transfer of rights to the agrarian parcel.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
7. Obtain the seller's agrarian certificate or document that proves their rights to the parcel and the authority to sell it.
8. Confirm that the parcel in question is an agrarian parcel subject to the jurisdiction of the agrarian authorities.
9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
13. After the registration is complete, the RAN will issue an updated parcel certificate reflecting the change in ownership due to the sale.
14. Inform the relevant authorities about the sale of the parcel, including the Tax Administration Service (Servicio de Administración Tributaria, SAT), to update tax and ownership records.
15. This entire process can be completed within 4 – 5 weeks or per the timeline the respective department authority advised.
