Need for the DocumentEdit

  • In Mexico, a Pilot License, also known as "Licencia de Piloto," is an official document issued by the Mexican Civil Aviation Authority (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil or DGAC) that authorizes individuals to operate aircraft as pilots.
  • It certifies that the holder has met the necessary requirements and possesses the qualifications to safely and legally fly an aircraft within the privileges and limitations specified by the license type.

Information which might helpEdit

There are different types of pilot licenses in Mexico, each with its own set of privileges and requirements. The main types of pilot licenses include:

  • Private Pilot License (Licencia de Piloto Privado): This license allows individuals to fly aircraft for personal or recreational purposes. Private pilots are not permitted to engage in commercial operations or receive compensation for their flying activities.
  • Commercial Pilot License (Licencia de PilotoComercial): A commercial pilot license permits individuals to fly aircraft for hire or reward. Commercial pilots can be employed by airlines, charter companies, or other aviation organizations to conduct commercial flights.
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (Licencia de Piloto de Transporte de LíneaAérea): This is the highest level of pilot license and is required for individuals who want to act as pilots-in-command of commercial airline operations or large aircraft. Airline transport pilots have more extensive training and experience requirements compared to other license types.
