Meghalaya - Apply for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)

ProcedureEdit

  • The “Meghalaya TET (MTET)” is conducted by the Directorate of Educational Research and Training to determine the eligibility of candidates as teachers in government or private schools.
  • There will be an official notification release by the respective board for MTET. On the issue of notification, the deserving candidates shall apply to register for the MTET.


Apply Online

  1. The candidate shall use the following link to reach the respective portal to apply online Link
  2. In the given page, please scroll down to the “Notice Board” section and click on the “Online application Apply here online for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET).…” link to reach a new page.
  3. Here, please s scroll down to “Service Specific Details” section and click on the checkbox for name of the exam for which the applicant is supplying from the list. Then, please complete the prompts for “Basic Candidate’s Details” section with details as appropriate. Also, upload the photo as applicable.
  4. The applicant shall provide their contact details under the “Address [Will be validated against EPIC/AADHAAR CARD] section as appropriate. The applicant shall process the “Educational Qualification”, “Professional Qualification” and “Other Service Details” sections as appropriate.
  5. Please click the checkbox for the “I Agree” declaration and then enter the captcha at the given space as appropriate and click on the “Submit” button at the bottom to get the preview page. Please go through the details and click the “Submit” button at the bottom to reach the acknowledgement page with application code. Also, the page will have details under “Instruction for Payment of Application Fee”.
  6. Please use the “Export to PDF” button at the bottom to download the application for future reference. with application code and follow the onscreen information to download the filled form for future reference.
  7. Now in the “Instruction for Payment of Application Fee” section of the given page, please go through the information and follow as instructed to reach the online payment gateway page.
  8. Please process the payment gateway page as per the online payment option as applicable and download the payment receipt.
  9. This application will be processed by the respective department. Once the department approves the application, the applicant will get intimation and the admit card will be provided as per applicable norms.

EligibilityEdit

  • The candidate should be the citizen of India.
  • The age limit for the candidates is 18 Years to 40 Years.
  • For those who belong to SC, ST, and OBC, age relaxation in the upper age limit is 5 Years.
  • Candidates should be class 12 passed or a graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 per cent marks.
  • Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training programme/course.



FeesEdit

  • The application fee is Rs. 800/- for each paper for general category candidates.
  • Rs. 400/- for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates.
  • The PwD category candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.



ValidityEdit

  • The approved application is valid for the period (year) for which the examination is notified.
