- To use the MRA's e-filing system, applicant must first register for an account with the MRA.
- This can be done by visiting the MRA's website and filling out the online registration form.
- Once the applicant account is approved, he/she can log in to the system and start the process of filing their objection.
- The Request for E-Filing of Objections (MRA) in Mauritius must be submitted within 30 days of the date of the MRA notice. If no objections are filed within this period, the assessment will be deemed to be accepted by the taxpayer.
- For this purpose, applicants must go to the MRA website at link.
- Then the applicant should enter their TAN and Assessment Number / Case Number or Refund Number / Document Number and then applicant must click "OK".
- The Applicant's TAN and Name will then automatically appear on the Objection form. If there are any changes in their personal data, the Applicant must fill in a "Personal Data Change Form" available here - link and send it to MRA.
- Applicants may submit Returns of Income, Statements of Income, or other documents electronically with their Objection form. Please note that the applicant should printing a copy of the objection before submitting online is recommended.
- Payment of the Objection can be made by cash or cheque at MRA cash counters located at Ehram Court, Port Louis, from Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 15.30 hrs.
- When the applicant making the payment, a copy of the Notice of Objection should be presented.
- Applicants should make cheques payable to the Director-General of MRA, crossed 'MRA A/c' or 'Account Payee Only' and post them.
- Alternatively, applicants can pay electronically through the Orange Money Service. When submitting an objection, applicants must submit the details of the assessment, the grounds for the objection, and any supporting documents or evidence.
- The MRA will then review him/her application and if they decide to accept the applicant objection, they will inform the applicant in writing of their decision.
- For further information, the applicant may call at the Customer Service Desks, Ground Floor, MRA Headquarters, Ehram Court, Corner Mgr Gonin & Sir Virgil Naz Streets, Port Louis or call MRA Help Desk on 207 6000.
- The applicant may also call at the OADR Department, Level 6, Belfort Tower, Cnr Dauphine & Joseph Rivière Streets, Port Louis or call us on 207 5000.
- The processing time for E-Filing of Objections (MRA) in Mauritius is typically 3-5 business days, depending on the complexity of the case. If the objection is accepted, the MRA will issue a notification and the taxpayer can pay the amount due.
