Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for choosing your business structure in Mauritius, applicant will need to go through the Registrar of Companies Division link
  2. The Registrar of Companies Division is responsible for registering and supervising companies, associations and other bodies corporate operating in Mauritius.
  3. To register a company in Mauritius, the applicant must submit an application for registration to the Registrar of Companies Division.
  4. Applicants can obtain the application form for choosing your business structure from Registrar of Companies Division.
  5. This application should include the company's proposed name and the type of company the applicant is registering.
  6. Once the application is received, the Registrar of Companies Division will review the application and determine whether the proposed name and type of company is acceptable.
  7. If the application is approved, the applicant will be required to submit the necessary documents and fees to the Registrar of Companies Division. These documents typically include a memorandum of association, articles of association, and they can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request
  9. Once the documents and fees are submitted, the Registrar of Companies Division will issue a certificate of incorporation. This certificate is proof that the company has been legally registered and is now an entity with its own legal rights and obligations.
  10. The applicant can then choose the desired business structure, such as a sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability company or public limited company.
  11. The applicant should consult a professional adviser to understand the implications of each type of structure before making a decision.
  12. It is important to note that the chosen business structure will have an impact on the company's taxation, compliance requirements, and other legal obligations.
