Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for a Premium Visa in person, the applicant has to approach the Passport & Immigration Office.

- Applicants should obtain the application form from the Passport & Immigration Office.
- The applicant should complete the application form as required such as name, address, phone number, email etc.
- The applicant has to provide all the necessary documents such as birth certificate, proof of residence and passport–sized photographs and they can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant should submit the form along with all the necessary documents to the Passport & Immigration Office.
- Applicants should make sure to submit the application form within the stipulated time frame.
- The applicant has to present himself/herself at the Passport & Immigration Office for biometric data capture.
- The Premium Visa is issued free of charge. There is no processing fee applicable.
- The Passport & Immigration Office will review the applicant’s application and make a decision.
- If the application is approved, the applicant will receive a notification letter from the Passport & Immigration Office informing him/her of the approval.
- The applicant can then proceed to collect the Premium Visa from the Passport & Immigration Office.
- The applicant should keep the Premium Visa in a safe place and renew it annually.
- The processing time for an application for a Premium Visa can vary depending on the applicant's individual circumstances, but typically takes between 10 and 20 days to process.

- To apply for a Premium Visa in Mauritius, applicant should go to EDB Mauritius portal at link
- Applicants should then click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
- Applicant will then be prompted to create a new account or login if already registered link
- New users should fill in the registration form, provide necessary documents and click on the ‘Register’ button.
- Registered users should enter their email address and password and click on the ‘Login’ button.
- After successfully logging in, the user can proceed to complete the visa application form.
- Users should provide details such as passport number, personal information, purpose of visit, duration of stay, contact information, etc.
- Users should then upload the necessary supporting documents like passport copy, photograph, proof of funds, and more.
- After all the above details are successfully filled, user should click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- The user will receive a notification about the successful submission of the application and a reference number for tracking the application.
- The Premium Visa is issued free of charge. There is no processing fee applicable.
- Then the Authority will review the application form and documents.
- Once the application is approved, the user will receive an email with a link to the EDB’s website where the user can access their approved visa.
- The processing time for the application is usually between two and three weeks.

- Any foreign national who wishes to visit Mauritius for business or leisure purpose can apply for a Premium Visa.
- To be eligible for a Premium Visa in Mauritius, applicant must be at least 18 years old, have a valid passport, and have proof of financial means to support him/herself and their dependents.
- In addition, the applicant must have a clean criminal record, possess good health, and have a genuine intention to establish him/herself in Mauritius.

- A premium visa is required for those who intend to stay in Mauritius for a period exceeding 180 days in a calendar year. For those staying for less than180 days, a tourist visa is granted on arrival to Mauritius.
- The Premium Visa aims at encouraging foreign nationals to come for a long stay as a tourist, a retiree or a professional willing to come with his/her family and work remotely from Mauritius, in a COVID-safe destination.
- It allows a non-citizen to stay in Mauritius for a period exceeding six (6) months up to one (1) year with an option to renew.
- Mauritian-sourced income of a Premium Visa holder (e.g., emoluments for work performed remotely in Mauritius) will be taxed on a remittance basis. That money spent in Mauritius using foreign credit or debit cards will not be deemed to have been remitted to Mauritius.
- The holder of a Premium Visa will be liable to pay income tax on money brought and deposited in a bank account in Mauritius. As an additional facility, such bank deposits will not be subject to income tax if a declaration is made to the effect that the required tax has been paid thereon in his country of origin or residence.
