Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Traineeship (MRIC) in person, the applicant has to approach the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council Contact link.
- Information related to the respective authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
- Applicants can download the Traineeship Application Form from the MRIC website at link.
- The applicant should complete the application form in full, providing all the necessary details.
- Applicants should attach necessary documents along with copy of your latest academic transcripts, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and other documents they can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Submit the application form and all the necessary documents to the MRIC on or before the specified deadline.
- After the application is submitted, the MRIC usually takes five to ten working days to review and process the application.
- Once the application is reviewed, the MRIC will contact the applicant for an interview.
- At the interview, he/she will be asked to provide proof of identity, relevant certificates and qualifications.
- After the interview, the MRIC will inform the applicant of its decision regarding their application.
- Some traineeships may be offered free of charge, while others may require a fee. For more information, interested applicants should contact the MRIC directly to inquire about the fees associated with their specific traineeship.

EligibilityEdit
To be eligible for a Traineeship (MRIC) in Mauritius Research and Innovation Council, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of Mauritius.
- Be a holder of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent communication, research and writing skills.
- Have a strong interest in research and innovation.
- Have the ability to manage multiple tasks.

- The Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) offers traineeship opportunities to students and graduates to become familiar with research and innovation activities in the country.
- The purpose of the traineeship is to provide an opportunity for the trainees to learn the process of conducting research and innovation, gain the necessary skills, and understand the importance of research and innovation in the country’s development.
- The traineeship also allows the trainees to gain a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the MRIC, and how it supports the research and innovation activities in Mauritius.

The MRIC Traineeship Act (Act No. 22 of 2019) is an Act of Parliament to provide for the establishment of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) and to provide for the provision of traineeship opportunities to young Mauritian professionals and students.
The objectives of the MRIC Traineeship Act are to:
- Promote and facilitate the pursuit of research and innovation activities in Mauritius;
- Provide traineeship opportunities and career development opportunities to young Mauritian professionals and students;
- Encourage the development of the research and innovation capacity of Mauritian institutions;
- Enhance the quality and impact of research and innovation in Mauritius;
- Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology;
- Provide for the establishment of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council and its functions.
- The MRIC Traineeship Act provides for the establishment of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) which will be responsible for the implementation of the Act. The Council will be composed of representatives from the private sector, the Government, public institutions, universities and research centers.
