Apply In Person

  1. To apply for the Tax Account Number (TAN), the applicant should make the application to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). Please view the MRA contact details through this link: contact details.
  2. Visit the MRA office and collect the application form at the reception or the form can also be download directly via this link Application form.
  3. Read and complete the application form accordingly and attach copies of the required documents as instructed in the application form or as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below.
  4. Then visit the MRA office and submit the application dossier to the MRA official at the service desk.
  5. The official will verify the application to check if the application is completed correctly and if the applicant has provided the required supporting documents.
  6. After verifying the application, if the application meets the required standards, the official will enter the applicnt’s data into the MRA system.
  7. Then the TAN will be generated and the applicant will be issued a receipt with the TAN number attached to it.


Apply Online

  1. To apply for the Tax Account Number (TAN) online, the applicant should make the application to the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) through their e-service portal via this link MRA E-Service.
  2. On the e-service web page, under “File and Pay” click on the “Individual” hyperlink to go to the next page.
  3. On the Individual page, click on the “ Application for TAN” hyperlink to open the application for Tax Account Number (TAN) online form.
  4. Then enter all the required information under the taxpayer profile page and click on the “Next” to go to the Reasons page.
  5. Complete providing the required details and then click on the “Next” button to go to the summary page of the application.
  6. On the summary page, check if you have provided all the required details correctly, and then click on the “Submit” button to send the application.
  7. After successful submission of the application, the MRA will send you the TAN through your email address.

Companies that wish to apply for the Tax Account Number (TAN), should send their application to the MRA through this email address for processing [email protected]
