Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Survey in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Housing and Land Use Planning in Mauritius or Statistics Mauritius Contact link or Contact link
- Visit the office and obtain an application form from the respective department.
- The applicant will have to fill out an application form.
- This form will ask for details such as the applicant educational and work background, any previous survey experience, and any special skills the applicant may have that would be beneficial to the survey.
- Complete the application form with required details and attach the required documents with the completed application form and submit it to the relevant office.
- After submitting the application form, he/she will need to wait for a response from the Mauritius Statistics Office.
- If his/her application is approved, they will provide the applicant with further information on the survey and inform the applicant of the next steps.
- Applicants may also need to provide additional documents such as their identity card, passport, or work permit and they can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Additionally, the applicant may need to complete an interview with a survey representative before being accepted into the survey.
- Once the applicant has completed the application process, the Mauritius National Statistics Office will provide the applicant with the survey materials.
- He/she will then be responsible for completing the survey and returning it to the office by the specified deadline.
- If the applicant is accepted for the survey, he/she will receive a fee for participating in the survey. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- Generally, processing times for a standard survey project can take up to 8 weeks (about 2 months), although this is highly dependent on the availability of the surveyor and the complexity of the project.
Apply online
- The Statistics Mauritius accepts applications for surveys from anyone who wishes to participate.
- To apply for a survey, please visit the Statistics Mauritius website link
- Once on the website, applicant will need to click on “Surveys” in the main navigation bar.
- This will take the applicant to a page with a list of available surveys.
- Click on the survey that the applicant wishes to apply for.
- Once on the survey page, the applicant will find a “Participate in this survey” button. Clicking on this button will take the applicant to a registration form.
- Fill out the form with all the required information. This will include the applicant's name, contact information, and any other survey-specific fields.
- Once the applicant has completed the form, click “Submit” to register for the survey.
- The applicant will be notified by email when the applicant application is accepted or rejected.
- Once the applicant registration has been accepted, the applicant will be sent an email with the survey link and instructions on how to complete the survey.
- Open the survey link and answer the questions as accurately and honestly as possible.
- If the applicant has any questions, a help desk is available to answer their queries. When the applicant has finished the survey, click on the submit button to submit their responses.
- Applicants will get an email confirming that the applicant survey has been successfully submitted.
- The Statistics Mauritius will review his/her responses and provide feedback if necessary.
- Applicants may also receive an email with a questionnaire link for a follow-up survey.
- Once all the data has been collected and analyzed, the applicant will receive the final report from Statistics Mauritius.
