Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Student Identity Card for free travel in Mauritius, the applicant should make the application to the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA) through the administration of the institution the applicant is attending for studies.   2. As a student, Parrent, or Guardian of a student, visit the administration office of your education institution i.e a secondary, post-secondary, tertiary institution, or any other institution approved for free travel, and obtain the application form for applying for a student ID for free travel.
  3. Read and complete the application form correctly and attach all the documents requested to complete the application dossier.
  4. Then go to the administration office of the learning institution and pay the requisite fee of the application at the cashier’s department.
  5. Upon payment of the fee, submit the application dossier to the administration office and the administrator will verify the application dossier to check if it is complete as required.
  6. Then the application dossier will be forward to the NLTA for processing.
  7. The NLTA will evaluate the application and if it meets the required merits for approval, the application will be approved processing.
  8. After the approval, the Student Identity Card for free travel will be processed and sent to the learning institution.
  9. Then the administration office will issue the Student Identity Card for free travel to the you the applicant.


Note: Requests addressed directly to the NLTA by students or responsible parties of the student will not be accepted by NLTA.
