Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Shifting of Supply of Meter (CWA) in person, the applicant has to approach the Central Water Authority Mauritius (CWA).

- Applicants should obtain the application form from the local electricity.
- Provide relevant documents such as proof of identity, proof of address, proof of ownership of the property, and other documents as may be required and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- Furthermore, the applicant will have to pay a nominal fee to the local electricity provider for processing the application and they can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- Once all the required documents are submitted, The CWA will inspect the site and verify all the documents submitted.
- Once the inspection is completed and the documents are verified, CWA will issue an approval letter.
- The CWA will then arrange for the shifting of the meter to the new site and provide the new meter.
- The new meter will be installed and the necessary connections will be made.
- Once the shifting of the meter is complete, the CWA will issue a new bill to reflect the new meter.
- The processing time for an application to shift the supply of a meter (CWA) in Mauritius is typically two to three working days.
Apply through Email
- To apply for a shift of supply of meter (CWA), the customer needs to complete an application form and provide the necessary documents and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- Alternatively, applicants can submit the completed application form along with all the required supporting documents to the Central Water Authority Mauritius (CWA) office through this email address: [email protected]
- Once the application is received by the CWA, the applicant will receive an email from the Central Water Authority Mauritius (CWA) office confirming that the request has been taken into consideration and given further instructions.
- The applicant will then be required to visit the Central Water Authority Mauritius (CWA) office near him/her and pay the processing fees, upon which the applicant will be issued with a receipt.
- After making the payment, the applicant will be issued the acknowledgment receipt of the application and they can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- After the application is approved, the relevant authorities will then inspect the new installation.
- Once the installation has been approved, the meter will be shifted, and the customer can start to receive their electricity supply.
- The application will be processed within 3 to 7 days.
