Apply In Person
- To apply for Registration of an Identification Mark in person, the applicant should make the application to Assay Office. Please view the Assay Office contact details through this Contact Details.
- Visit the Assay office and obtain the application form at the reception of the office or download the application form through the Assay office website Downloads (scroll to find “Application for Registration of a Mark” and click on the hyperlink to open the form and print it. The form can also be downloaded directly through this Application form.
- Read and complete the registration form correctly and then attach all the relevant documents that will support the application.
- With the completed application, the applicant should visit the Assay office and pay the registration fee of 3000 MUR at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt and attach it to the application file.
- Upon making the registration payment, the application should submit the application file to the Assay official at the registration desk.
- The official will verify the application to confirm if it is completed as required and check if all the required supporting documents are attached.
- Once the verification is completed and the application meets the required standards for registration, the official will complete the official section of the application form.
- Then the Identification mark will be registered and a Certificate of Registration of Identification Mark will be issued to the applicant.
Apply Online
- To apply for Registration of an Identification Mark online, the applicant should make the application online through the Mauritius government website (E-services portal) via this E-services portal
- On the E-service page, scroll down the page and select “3” to go to page three of the portal.
- On the page, scroll to find “Application for Registration of an Identification Mark” and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
- Then the applicant should enter his/her username and password to sign in if he/she already has an account and if the applicant is not a registered user, the applicant should click on the “Register (new user)” hyperlink to go to the registration page.
- Read the data protection information and click on the “Accept” button to proceed to the next page.
- Confirm citizenship by either clicking on the “Yes” or “No” button to go to the next page.
- For citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and the NIC number and for non-citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and passport number then click on the “Next” button to proceed to the next page.
- On this page, the applicant should enter his/her user name and password and then click on the “Next” button to go to the next page.
- Enter the applicant’s email address and then click on the “ Send OTP” button.
- The applicant will be sent an OTP code through the registered email address, enter the OTP code in the “Insert OTP” box and click on the “Next” button to continue.
- Once the applicant completes creating the account, go to the E-service portal and find “Application for Registration of an Identification Mark” on page 3 and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
- Enter the applicant’s credentials and login and the applicant will be directed to the application form for Registration of an Identification Mark.
- Complete the application form correctly and attach all the required supporting documents to the application form.
- Then click on the Captcha box to complete the human test and then click on the “SUBMIT” button to send the application.
- Once the application is submitted successfully, the applicant will receive a notification of the successful application.
- Then the applicant shall visit the Assay office and pay the registration fee of 3000 MUR at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt.
- Upon making the registration payment, the application should submit the application notification to the Assay official at the registration desk.
- The official will verify the notification and the payment.
- Once the verification is completed and the application meets the required standards for registration, the identification mark will be registered and a Certificate of Registration of Identification Mark will be issued to the applicant.
