Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Parcel Identification Number (Ministry of Housing and Lands), the applicant must visit the Ministry of Housing and Land Use Planning in Mauritius.Contact link
- Application form can be obtained from this link or the applicant should obtain the application form from the authority.
- The applicant should fill all the required details in the application form.
- The applicant should the necessary documents such as proof of ownership, title deed and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
- The application form and documents should be submitted to the Head of the Cadastral Division at the Ministry of Housing and Lands.
- The Ministry of Housing and Lands will review the application and may ask for additional information if needed.
- Once the application is received, the Ministry of Housing and Lands will issue an official receipt.
- The Ministry of Housing and Lands will assign a surveyor to survey the land once the application is approved.
- The surveyor will prepare a comprehensive report and submit it to the Ministry of Housing and Lands for their review.
- The Ministry of Housing and Lands will review the report and, upon approval, take the necessary action.
- Once the necessary requirements have been satisfied, the applicant will receive a certificate for the parcel identification number from the Ministry of Housing and Lands.
- The processing time for this process takes 15 days.

- Any person who wishes to register ownership of a property in Mauritius is eligible to apply for a Parcel Identification Number (PIN) from the Ministry of Housing and Lands.
- This includes landowners, tenants, borrowers, and all other stakeholders in the property.

The validity period for a Certificate of Parcel Identification Number is 5 years.
