Apply Online

  1. To apply for the Apply for Legal Aid online, visit the Mauritius government website (E-services portal) through this link: E-services portal
  2. On the E-service page, scroll down the page and select “3” to go to page three of the portal.
  3. On the third page, scroll to find “Application for Legal Aid” and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
  4. Then the applicant should enter his/her username and password to sign in if the applicant already has already has an account and if the applicant is not a registered user, click on the “Register (new user)” hyperlink to go to the registration page.
  5. Read the data protection information and click on the “Accept” button to proceed to the next page.
  6. Confirm citizenship by either clicking on the “Yes” or “No” button to go to the next page.
  7. For citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and the NIC number and for non-citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and passport number then click on the “Next” button to proceed to the next page.
  8. On this page, enter required user name and password and then click on the “Next” button to go to the next page.
  9. Enter email address and then click on the “ Send OTP” button.
  10. The applicant will then be sent an OTP code through his/her email address, enter the OTP code in the “Insert OTP” box and click on the “Next” button to continue.
  11. Once the applicant completes creating his/her account,the applicsnt should go to the E-service portal and find “Application for Legal Aid” on the third page and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
  12. Then the applicant should enter his/her credentials and login to his/her account and then the applicant will be directed to the application form for Application for Legal Aid.
  13. Complete the application form correctly and then click on the “Submit” button to send the application.
  14. Once the applicant has successfully submitted the application, the applicant will receive a notification informing him/her that the application is successful.
