- To apply for the Apply for Legal Aid online, visit the Mauritius government website (E-services portal) through this link: E-services portal
- On the E-service page, scroll down the page and select “3” to go to page three of the portal.
- On the third page, scroll to find “Application for Legal Aid” and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
- Then the applicant should enter his/her username and password to sign in if the applicant already has already has an account and if the applicant is not a registered user, click on the “Register (new user)” hyperlink to go to the registration page.
- Read the data protection information and click on the “Accept” button to proceed to the next page.
- Confirm citizenship by either clicking on the “Yes” or “No” button to go to the next page.
- For citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and the NIC number and for non-citizens, the applicant will be required to enter his/her name and passport number then click on the “Next” button to proceed to the next page.
- On this page, enter required user name and password and then click on the “Next” button to go to the next page.
- Enter email address and then click on the “ Send OTP” button.
- The applicant will then be sent an OTP code through his/her email address, enter the OTP code in the “Insert OTP” box and click on the “Next” button to continue.
- Once the applicant completes creating his/her account,the applicsnt should go to the E-service portal and find “Application for Legal Aid” on the third page and click on the hyperlink to go to the sign-in page.
- Then the applicant should enter his/her credentials and login to his/her account and then the applicant will be directed to the application form for Application for Legal Aid.
- Complete the application form correctly and then click on the “Submit” button to send the application.
- Once the applicant has successfully submitted the application, the applicant will receive a notification informing him/her that the application is successful.
