Mauritius - Apply Lorry (Waste Carriers) Licence for Transporting Waste

Apply In Person

  1. To apply for the Waste Carriers License, the applicant should make the application to the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit​ under the Ministry of Local Government and Disaster Risk Management. Please view the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit contact details in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section below.
  2. Visit the ministry’s office and obtain the application form for license at the fornt desk or reception of the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit.
  3. Complete the application form correctly and then gather and prepare all the required docuements and attach the documents to the application form.
  4. Then visit the Ministry’s office and submit the complete application file to the officer at the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit service desk.
  5. The officer will verify the application and then schedule a date to inspect the applicant’s transpotation vehicle of the waste.
  6. Then the applicant will be required to pay the license fee at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt.
  7. On the scheduled date, the waste transportation vehicle will be inspected by the inpectors form the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit.
  8. Then the inspection report will be forward to the Waste Carriers Licensing Unit and the unit will inspect the report and forward it to the minister’s office for approval.
  9. Then minister will evaluate the application and if it meets the required standards, it will be approved.
  10. Once the application is approved, the license will be processed and issued to you the applicant.

  • The application fee for a one day license is Rs.100.
