Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Lift or Escalator Maintenance License, the applicant must approach the Electrical Licensing board of their respective state link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant must fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant must attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant must pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  10. The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
  11. The applicant must undergo an interview or examination to assess their knowledge and competence in plumbing. If such a requirement exists, prepare accordingly and be ready to demonstrate your expertise.
  12. If your application is approved and you have fulfilled all the necessary requirements, you will be granted a License. The license will specify the scope of work you are authorized to undertake and any limitations or conditions.
  13. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

  • Shall have a valid electrical contractor’s license from the State Electrical Licensing Board.
  • Shall have independent office premises with an independent telephone connection within their respective state.
  • Shall have to produce a certificate from any nationalized bank to the effect that he is solvent to the extent of rupees eight lakhs.
  • Shall have in his regular employment the following minimum staff.
  • At least one engineer possessing a degree in mechanical engineering or its equivalent qualification
  • A diploma in mechanical engineering from a recognized institute
  • At least one engineer possessing a degree in electrical engineering or its equivalent qualification from the recognized university or institution
  • At least one person possessing a certificate in the trade of electrical or electronics from the industrial training institute or any other recognized institution
  • Shall have a workshop in his own possession within the state equipped with minimum required machinery and testing instruments.
  • Shall have necessary safety gadgets, like safety belts and head gears for the entire staff engaged in the work of erection and maintenance.
  • Shall have suitable means of transportation at his disposal for the transportation of material
