Apply Online

  1. To Apply for Film Censor Board Certification, the applicant has to make their application online via link
  2. The applicant can check all the details for the application process and click the “Click here to apply” from above the menu list.
  3. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “Sign Up” option.
  4. Enter all the applicant details and click the “Next” button.
  5. Also, upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. After completing the details click the “Submit” button.
  7. Now the applicant has to log in with the user ID and password and click the “Submit” button.
  8. The applicant has to select the form from the menu list.
  9. Enter all the details in the application form and click the “Next” button.
  10. Follow by completing the film details and applicant details and then click the “Next” button.
  11. And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  12. Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode.
  13. The fee details are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  14. Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
  15. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  16. The CBFC will schedule a screening to examine the film's content. A committee will review the film and determine its certification.
  17. The CBFC will issue a certificate for the film based on the examination. The applicant will be informed of the decision, and the certificate will specify the classification category.
  18. Once the film has been certified, the applicant can collect the certificate from the regional CBFC office or the office specified in the communication they receive from the CBFC.
  19. The applicant can release and distribute the film following the certification category and any additional instructions provided by the CBFC.
  20. This entire process can be completed within 68 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • ID proof (birth certificate, PAN card, Aadhaar card, etc)
  • Address proof – (Driving license, passbook, utility bill, etc)
  • A copy of the film on DVD or Blu-ray disc.
  • A copy of the script of the film.
  • A certificate from the copyright holder (if one is not the copyright holder).
  • Any other documents (If required)
