ProcedureEdit

  1. Obtain the Application Form A from any of these: the Passport Office, the Police Stations, Local councils or Travel Agencies.

  2. Fill in and complete the application form. Both parents must give their consent by signing the application in the presence of a sponsor or recommender (Section 7).
  3. Have a sponsor or recommender. This person must be a professional person (or priest) who has known you for at least two years ago.
  4. Your sponsor or recommender must complete the relevant part of the application form. The sponsor must sign the application and one photo of the child.
  5. Call the Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security (MHAS) along with your child if he or she is 6 years old or above (below 18 years old).
  6. Collect your child's passport after four (4) working days. Bring your ID card.

Note:

  • For children who are 14 years old and above, there is no need to bring a signed photo. His or her biometric facial image and fingerprints will be taken at the office of MHAS.

FeesEdit

Passport Application Fees:

  • For ages 16 or more - 70
  • For ages between 10 and 15 years - 35
  • For ages below 10 years - 14
  • Urgent Passports (all ages) - 120



ValidityEdit

  • The passport of minors between 16 and 18 years is valid for 10 years.
  • The passport of minors between 10 and 15 years is valid for 5 years.
  • The passport of minors under 10 years is valid for 2 years.

Processing TimeEdit

The normal processing time for a minor passport is 4 working days. Passport that is processed urgently can be collected after four hours.
