Apply In-Person

  1. Applicants should visit the National Directorate of Domains and Cadastre office near you and express your interest at the front desk and,
    • Collect necessary forms and accurately fill them;
    • Attach all the required documents (see required document below); and
    • Submit the documents to be verified and recorded by the attending officer.
  2. The attending officer will then verify the application file, if he/she is satisfied that the application file is in order, the file is registered and you will be issued a registration receipt.
  3. The file is then forward to the domanial section for registration and then transmitted to the director of the domain and cadastre service, who then sends a letter to the director of town planning and construction for advice.
  4. Upon receiving the recommendation from the director of town planning and construction, the director of the domain and cadastre service will further examine the file and the recommendation and decide whether to approve the request or not.
  5. Upon reaching a decision you will be notified of the outcome by the National Directorate of Domains and Cadastre office and given further instruction on how to collect the lease permit/certificate upon payment of the all required fees.

  • A handwritten and stamped request addressed to the competent domain service.
  • 4 certified copies of an extract from the financial plan indicating the location of the land certified by the Director of cadastral services.
  • Valid identification document {NIC card/passport}

EligibilityEdit

A lease agreement certificate can be issued to any person {interested party, his beneficiaries or his duly authorized representative} who already occupies or who has identified land in the private domain of the State.

FeesEdit

The following legal fees must be paid {Please consult the National Directorate of Domains and Cadastre {DNDC}

  • Registration and stamp duties.
  • Land formalities fees.
  • A fee (annual rent) determined according to the zone and the surface area occupied must also be paid in return for the lease granted by the State.


ValidityEdit

  • Long- term lease
    • For a period of thirty years, extendable once for 20 years
    • At the end of 50 years, the beneficiary can request renewal for a total of 99 years.
