Procedure

Citizens living outside Mali could apply for a passport at an embassy as long as they applied in person. No additional documents would be required

Instructions

• No person may apply for a passport on behalf of another, except in the case of parents who can apply to have minor children added to their passports
• Passports had to be signed by the passport holder in order to be valid
• Passports cannot be issued in all embassies abroad

Other uses of the Document/Certificate

In a foreign country, a passport is the only way that I almost can prove (nationality, name, age, etc.) and who one is. Therefore, in a foreign country, passport will be required in various places unlike when you are in the country. More specifically,

• when the immigration, such as in airport
• when you check in to a hotel
• when using a (travel checks) travelers checks
• when asked to present identification from such police officers
