Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Applicant should visit the Société Malienne de Gestion de l'Eau Potable SA {SOMAGEP SA} branch agency near you and express your interest at the customer service desk.

   • Collect necessary forms and accurately fill them;
   • Attach all the required documents (see required document below); and
   • Submit the documents to be verified and registered by the SOMAGEP agent.

2. Once the file has been establish you will be issued with an acknowledgment slip and an appointment booking for a site survey in 15 days.
3. The application file is then transmitted to the technical service for study, by the technical sales agents and the quantity surveyors.
4. The SOMAGEP surveyor’s team will then be sent to the site {residence} to inspect its feasibility and write a report.
5. The report will then validated by the technical agent or the district manager in the regions for simple connection, the head of service or the director for the extension and draw a receipt indicating an estimate cost of the layout connection materials from the main water pipe.
6. The file along with the payment receipt are then returned to the reception desk, to be issued to applicant, who then decide if and when to make the connection fee.
7. If you agree to make payment, the reception agent fills in and sign the contract form and send it to the customer service manager for signature.
8. The file is recorded on the computer, then sent to the cash register where you will be advised to make payment against the connection receipt.
9. Upon payment you will be issued with a payment receipt as well as the original copy of the contract.
10. A copy of the file is then sent to the accounting department for the journaling of the receipts. A second copy is sent to technical service and a third is filed with customer service.
11. The technical service team will then visit the residence for external works, meter installation and water flow within 15 days.
12. Upon completing the installation a meter installation form will be issued to you by the technical service team to be completed, sign and then place in your file. The file is then sent to reception for updating and invoicing.

A.For the particular connection

For the owner

• Copy of the title deed or equivalent document,
• SOMAGEP-SA discharge at the point of delivery (case of transfer, re-subscription),
• Copy of valid identity document (CI, Passport).
  

For the tenant

• Connection authorization certificate legalized at the town hall by the owner,
• Lease contract (real estate agency),
• Copy of the tenant's valid identity document (CI, Passport),
• CI copy of owner.
  

B.For the fountain connection

• Authorization from the Town Hall for the installation of the BF
• Commitment of the Hygiene Service (authorization),
• Police report,
• Copy of valid identity document (CI, Passport).
  

C.For the washing area connection

• Authorization from the Town Hall,
• Commitment of the Hygiene Service (authorization),
• Police report,
• Copy of valid identity document (CI, Passport).

Fees

You will be given receipt indicating the connection fee (quotation fee) and the security deposit fee required by the SOMAGEP SA

Validity

Validity of the connection is forever, unless one fails to pay the water bill, which lead to disconnection of the water service.
