Mali - Apply for Travel Document within ECOWAS Region (Minors)

Apply In-Person
- The parent/guardian accompanied by the child (under the age of 18) should visit the children's travel document office at the Border Police Department.
- Collect necessary forms and accurately fill them;
- Make all necessary payment for the fiscal stamps at the cashier desk, upon which you will be issued with an acknowledgment slip.
- Attach all the required documents (listed below under required documents section); and
- Submit the documents to be verified and recorded.
- You should then proceed to the biometric booth where the attending staff will take the child biometric information (fingerprints, photo).
- The application file will then be forwarded to the director office for further assessment, approval and signing.
- The document is finally returned to the children’s travel document office within one working day, re- visit the office with your identification document and acknowledgment slip and claim the travel document.
Required DocumentsEdit
- A copy of the guardian's passport or identity card.
- 3 identity photos of the tutor.
- 3 identity photos of the child.
- A copy of the child's birth certificate extract.
- Form provided on site to complete.
- 2 fiscal stamps: 500 and 1000 Francs FCFA.

All Mali citizens (minors) are eligible.
FeesEdit
No fee associate with the service and issue of the document but a fee of 500 and 1000 Francs FCFA is imposed for the 2 fiscal stamps.
ValidityEdit
- A Travel Certificate is valid for two (2) years and is renewable for a further period of two (2) years.
- It is valid for travel within the ECOWAS Sub-region.

InstructionsEdit
- The ECOWAS Travel Certificate shall be issued or extended only on presentation of :
- a valid birth certificate, sworn affidavit in lieu of birth certificate or national identify card ;
- 4 (four) 4 cm x 4 cm photographs ;
- a completed application form containing all necessary information for identification of the applicant.
- Where necessary, the applicant shall be required to give proof of his identify, his nationality and his occupation in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in his country of origin.
- The ECOWAS Travel Certificate is issued on an individual basis.
- Couples shall not be issued with one Single Certificate. Under-age children may be included on the Certificate of the accompanying adult. *Any person above fifteen (15) years of age shall be required to obtain his own ECOWAS Travel Certificate.
- Applications for the ECOWAS Travel Certificate shall attract a stamp duty in accordance with the stamps and registry code of each Member State.
