Malaysia - Obtain Certificate of Origin
ProcedureEdit
Online Application of Certificate of Origin (ePCO):
- Establish tariff classification or Harmonized System (HS) code of product. Note: HS code for every product or raw materials used can be purchased by referring to Division of Classification, Royal Customs of Malaysia.
- Verify if the product is included in the tariff reduction and elimination schedule.
- Prepare and submit Costing Application. Wait for approval of Costing Application.
- Submit COO form, which is based on the approved Costing Application.
- Print out PCO on specific Certificate of Origin (CO) forms in accordance with respective schemes. The CO forms can be purchased from the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).
- Obtain CO endorsement from MITI.

The certifying authority for all Preferential Certificates of Origin is the Trade and Industry Cooperation Section of MITI.
You may send your request to obtain a Preferential Certificate of Origin through Ministry of International Trade and Industry's (MITI) ePCO, a web-based application and approval system. Manufacturers / Exporters who need certification of the country of origin for a particular product can use ePCO to apply in the form of an official online document the Preferential Certificate of Origin.
The approval and CO endorsement services are also available at MITI branch offices in Penang, Johor, Kelantan, Perak, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.
