Applying for the Government's Student Loan Scheme
Methods of education financing request:
- Got an offer to IPT before applying for financing education.
- Pleaded education financing online. Click here.
- Request berpandukan dates that have been set by IPT. Click here.
- Having a bank account deposits by individuals who have been determined by the IPT.
Online Application
Application for PTPTN loan can only be done using online at http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway. Hard copy loan applications are no longer accepted.
Applying for a Student Loan Banks
Not all banks offer loans for education. Most of them provide personal loans, which are basically credit for customers granted for personal use, including education. Some organizations also offer loans for overseas studies.
- Decide on the amount of Loan required
- Understand which banks provide loan
- Go to the bank Apply for the student loan
- Submit all the necessary documents
- Get Approval
Required DocumentsEdit
- Applications submitted must use the application form Copy of the Original Document Education Financing Agreement.
- Request for copies of documents such agreements are subject to a fee of RM90.00.
- The completed application form along with the money order / bank draft can be sent to any PTPTN Office of the State or by mail.

EligibilityEdit
- Malaysian citizens;
- Not exceeding 45 years of age on the date of application;
- Passed Malaysia Certificate of Education (SPM) with credits in any 3 subjects or with at least 5B in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC);
- Possess at least SPM and STPM equivalent qualifications that are recognised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia such as A-Levels, MUFY, Australian Matriculation, Canadian Matriculation, etc;
- Have registered for a full time course at the first degree (Bachelor) level. Students in Private Higher Education Institutions must comply with the entry requirements as approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Department of Higher Education (JPT), Ministry of Education Malaysia. All relevant certifications and approval letters must be enclosed;
- The remaining period of study upon application must exceed one year;
- Have no other sponsor;
- For students applying for the second time, any loan extended by PTPTN for the earlier instance must be fully settled and
- Possess a SSPN account (Skim Simpanan Pendidikan National).

There are mainly three types of loans for undergraduate students in Malaysia: Bank Education Loans, Government Education Loans, and Other Education Loans. Some universities or colleges might also offer loans, but usually in partnership with a financial institution.
Only courses which passed tajaan PTPTN will be registered and disenaraikan the Online Application Portal PTPTN. IPT parties need to make an application to the PTPTN if only want to get the financing tajaan PTPTN.
Only accounts SSPN- i which has 15 digits sake only are allowed to make a request PTPTN. Please contact cawangan PTPTN close to shrubby account numbers SSPN- i 15 digits.

An education loan is basically funding provided by an entity (typically the government, a bank, or an organisation) to help a student pursue their studies by covering things such as their tuition fees, cost of books, and living expenses.
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) scheme enables students in local institutions of higher education to obtain an education loan from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) to finance their education fees.
Information which might helpEdit
PTPTN Education Financing Scheme was established for the purpose of providing education financing to students pursuing studies in local institutions of higher education. This education financing will enable students to finance fully or partially the course fees and their cost of living for the duration of their study. Thus providing more opportunities for students to pursue study at the tertiary level.
PTPTN education financing facility is offered to students pursuing their studies at public (IPTA) and private (IPTS) institutions of higher education locally. This is in accordance with Section 2 of the PTPTN Act 1997 (Act 566) for institutions of higher education established under the:
- Universities and University Colleges Act 1971;
- Universiti Teknologi MARA Act 1976;
- Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996;
- Polytechnics established and maintained by the Minister under the Education Act 1996; and
- Any other higher educational institutions established or deemed to have been established under the Education Act 1996 and which is determined by the Minister to be a higher educational institutions.

The loan disbursement will be credited directly to the student's personal account with CIMB Bank.
The first loan payment is released only after the completed agreement is accepted by PTPTN. The subsequent payments will be made after PTPTN receives confirmation from the University that the student is progressing into the next semester and has scored not less than 50% in Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or a PASS in the previous semester.
