Procedure to apply for Malaysians

1. Get the form from the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur or via on-line at http://www.imi.gov.my
2. Get the 'Letter of Good Conduct' of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia as a supporting document to verify that their application had the support of the Government of Malaysia and they have met the requirements of the application.
3. Send the application form to the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. If the Australian High Commission is satisfied with the application, the applicant will be given a Health Examination Form.
4. Applicants must undergo a medical at the panel hospital recognized by the Government of Australia.
   • The medical examination results will be sent to the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur without informing the result to the applicant.
   • The Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur will inform the applicants whether their application was successful or not.

Procedure to apply for Australians

1. Get the form from the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur or via on-line at http://www.imi.gov.my
2. Obtain a letter of support from the ACT and Region Office, Department of Immigration and Citizenship of Australia or agencies designated by the Government of Australia for verifying that the applicant had received the support of the Australian Government and they have met the requirements of the application;
3. Send the completed application form along with a medical certificate certified by a qualified doctor in Australia and also evidence of a crime never committed to the Malaysian High Commission in Canberra or Malaysian Consulate General in Perth.
4. The Malaysian High Commission in Canberra and the Consulate-General of Malaysia in Perth will inform the applicants whether their application was successful or not.

Eligibility

• Aged between 18-30 years old at the time of application
• Should have higher education qualifications or at least have undergone two years of study at degree level in universities.
• Ability to speak English.
• You will not be allowed to bring your kids.
• You should have a valid passport and a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket.
• You should have the financial means to cover their maintenance during the period of initial stay in Malaysia or Australia.
• You should have a record of good health.
• Malaysian applicants - meet health requirements by the Government of Australia; Australian applicants - must have good health and be supported by a valid medical certificate issued by a qualified doctor in Australia.
• Malaysian applicants - meet the criteria of characters that will be determined by the Government of Australia and obtained a Letter of Good Conduct 'of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Fees

The fee charged on the successful Australian applicants is RM90.00 per year or part thereof.

• 'Work and Holiday Visa Program is a special program that provides opportunities for young people to travel Malaysia and Australia while working part-time to cover the daily expenses while traveling in Malaysia or Australia.
  
  

Participants 'Work and Holiday Visa Program' that has entered Malaysia or Australia must comply with the rules and laws of Malaysia and Australia and can not be involved in any work that is not allowed for the purposes of 'Work and Holiday Visa Program', namely:

1. The main purpose of the visit under 'Work and Holiday Visa Program' is to travel and work is to cater to the holiday destination.
2. For Malaysia, Australian participants are not allowed to work.
   • at the firm or company which requires professional qualifications.
   • entertainment industry related fields such as singing and dancing
   • the spa
   • service counters (liner)
   • voluntary activities.
3. The visa holder 'Work and Holiday' visas are not allowed to study or undergo training over a period of 4 months of the visit.
4. The visa holder 'Work and Holiday Visa Program' is not allowed to work with a single employer over a period of 6 months.
5. 'Work and Holiday Visa Program' automatically allow pass holders to work and reside temporarily in Malaysia or Australia.
6. Applicants 'Work and Holiday' visa must be made by citizens at the Australian Embassy in Malaysia and Australian citizen at the Malaysian Embassy in Australia.
7. Applicants 'Work and Holiday Visa Program' selected by Government bodies must submit a letter of support from their respective governments stating that they are eligible to participate in the program.
8. Applicants will be interviewed if necessary.
