ProcedureEdit
- Visit the concerned authority personally.
- Fill the application form with the complete information.
- Submit the necessary documents. It must be submitted by the parent or guardian.
- Pay the prescribed fee.

Applicant's Documents
- Original and copy of the Identity card
- Original and copy of the Birth Certificate or latest extract of Birth Certificate
- Original and copy of the Passport or other travel document
- Original and copy of the Marriage document
- 3 recent passport-sized photographs with a blue background
Parents' Documetns
- Copy of the Identity card
- Copy of the Birth Certificate or latest extract of Birth Certificate
- Copy of the Citizenship Certificate
Spouse's Document
- Copy of the Identity card
Child's Documents
- Copy of the Birth Certificate or latest extract of Birth Certificate
- Copy of the Identity card
All copies of supporting documents should be made on A4 paper

EligibilityEdit
- Must have been born in the federation (excluding Sabah and Sarawak) before Independence Day
- Must be 18 years and above on the date of application
- Must have resided in the federation during the 7 years immediately preceding the date of the application, for a total period of at least 5 years
- Must have intentions to reside permanently in the federation
- Must be of good character
- Must have at least an elementary knowledge of the Malay language

- Application fee - RM 10.00
- Fee for the issuance of Citizenship Certificate (if approved) - RM 100.00
ValidityEdit
Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid. e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever
Documents to UseEdit
- Form A (which can be obtained from the Putrajaya NRD headquarters or state NRD headquarters/branches)
- Application forms for registration of birth in a foreign country and renunciation of citizenship may be obtained from consulates abroad
