Procedure

1. Applications to renew a passport must be submitted together with the expiring/expired. Note: Contact information of Immigration Offices and diplomatic missions of Malawi abroad are provided below.
2. Pay the application fee.

• The previous passport.

Eligibility

Provide eligibility criteria's for going through this procedure.

Fees

• Ordinary Passport: 48,500
• Passport for children aged 10 years and below: 42, 500

Passport Fees - as of Nov. 2015

Validity

• Ordinary Passport: 10 years
• Service Passport: 10 years
• Child Passport: valid for 5 years and is issued to children under the age of 10 years
• Temporary Passport: 6 months
• Diplomatic Passport: 10 Years except for Members of Parliament which is valid for 5 years
