Malawi - Obtain Medicine Import Permit

Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. You need to be a registered wholesaler to obtain the import permit, Retailers only import in special circumstances.
2. Once register as a wholesaler, visit the pharmaceutical, Medicine and Poison board office to submit your application.
3. Issue your documents to the assisting official at the service desk for review
4. Once the documents have been verified, chose the kind of permit you wish to apply for: Annual permit or Consignment specific permit
5. If you are applying for the annul permit, the assisting officer will issue the application form and a list of the required document
6. Fill the application form and attach all the required documents then submit it for validation
7. Once the official validates your application, processed and pay the recommend fee
8. Then the application will be forward to the Poison board for approval and processing within three days
9. However, if you are applying for the consignment specific permit, the application will be processed within the same day of application
