Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Be a registered pharmaceutical wholesaler or seek an agent in Malawi who is a pharmaceutical wholesaler
2. Apply for the inspection of goods manufacturing practices (GMP) to the poison board through the contacts provided below
3. Once the application is accepted, the board will send an inspector of Good #Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to your premises for evaluation inspection
4. The inspector will conduct the required inspection and fill a report on the standard used in manufacturing the medicine to be exported
5. Then the report will be forwarded to the GMP evaluation committee and thereafter to the pharmacy committee of the board
6. Upon satisfactory results, the Pharmacy Committee certifies the report and recommends it to the Main Board which certifies the validity of the certificate/ permit
7. The permit will then be processed and issued to you
