Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for an Expiation to Export Movable Property, the applicant has to approach a commercial bank.
2. First, the applicant has to visit any commercial bank to obtain a free currency declaration form (CD1)
3.  Next, fill the application form (CD1) and attach the commercial invoice to it and return it to the bank for processing.
4. The bank will verify content in the CD1 form, and create web-based information where they will share the information by the Malawi Revenue Authority and the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
5.  The processing of the complete documents will take a day and the form will be validated for expiation and it will be valid for 6 months.
6. This service is free of cost.
