Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant should visit The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services Republic Of Malawi and collect the application form Link to Contacts
2. At the time of receiving the form, the applicant has to pay the Visa application fees.
3. Then, the applicant has to enter all the required details in the application form.
4. After that, the applicant has to attach all the required documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below.
5. The applicant has to book an appointment at the Embassy.
6. On the date of the appointment, the applicant has to bring documents and a Visa fee receipt.
7. Once all of this is done, the officer of the Malawian embassy checks all the documents of the applicant, if satisfied, then the officer will issue the business visa.
8. It takes between 3 to 7 working days to process a Malawian Business Visa.

Required Documents

A completed visa application form with signed.

• Copy of a verified round ticket.
• Two recent passport photos of the Applicant.
• Certificates that prove that the applicant has sufficient money for accommodation in Malawi.
• A valid passport that must be valid at least for 6 months with effect from the date of entry into Malawi.
• Insurance certificate from any insurance company.
• Yellow fever vaccination certificate.
• Letter from the company, where the applicant is working.
• A reference/invitation letter from the due Company in Malawi.

Eligibility

• Foreigners on Business trips in Malawi except when the trip involves the provision of technical assistance services of any nature.
• The applicant must be a genuine traveller.
• The applicant must meet the minimum requirement of health.
• The reason for the business visa must be legit.
  

Fees

• Single Entry Visa $70.
• Multiple entry visa for 6 months $150.
• Multiple entry visa for 12 months $ 250.
  

Validity

• A Malawian single entry Business Visa is valid for 3 months.
• A multiple entry Visa is valid for not more than 12 months.

According to Malawi immigration requirements, foreigners from most countries require a visa to gain entry into Malawi.

• The Malawian Visa should be obtained from a foreign country of origin at a Malawian consulate.
• An on-arrival visa for Malawi is given at a port of entry.
• The applicants can apply in person at Malawi foreign missions or through a sponsor in Malawi.
