Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Obtain all the required documents for the application and visit the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, Department of Agriculture research and Technical Service (DARs) office to fill an application.
2. In the office an official will issue you an application form, fill the form and submit it with all the necessary documents
3. Pay the prescribed application fees and submit the payment slip to the DARs official
4. The DARs official will verify your application and if correct you will book an appointment to make representation on different forums regarding the use of the commodity you intend to import
5. On the select date, conduct your representation to the DARs committee
6. The committee will make a decision if to grant you the permit and if they agree, the permit will be processed
7. Once the permit is available for collection, you will be contacted and required to collect it
