Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Export License under Control of Goods, the exporter has to approach the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, trade department.Contact Link
2. Exporter has to obtain the application form from the Malawi Trade Portal: Link or obtain it from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, at the trade department.
3.  Fill the application form accordingly and attach all the documents mentioned under the “Required Documents” section below.
4.  Then, pay the required application fee and obtain the payment receipt.
5. Submit the completed application form to the department of trade for verification.
6. The department will verify the application and forward it for approval.
7. Then the Ministry will approve the application and order for the processing of the license which normally takes five working days.
8.  Once processed you will need to collect the complete license through the department of Trade.

The export license will be valid for 6 months.
