Apply In-Person:

  1. First, the interested person must search a probable name for his company.
  2. Next, the applicant has to put in an application for the Certificate of Incorporation to the Registrar general in the Ministry of Justice.Link to Contact
  3. Then he/she has to file his name for the payment of income tax with the Malawi revenue Authority Link to Contact
  4.  Then obtain a company seal.
  5. After that, submit an application form to receive a license from the Ministry of trade and Industry Contact Link and in respect to food and liquor license from the Blantyre City Assembly Link to Contact
  6.  After this, the inspectors will inspect the precincts of the location of business.
  7. Again the applicant has to obtain license from the Ministry of Trade and Industry by paying the applicable fees as provided in the “Fees” section of this page, to the Director of finance.
  8.  Followed by an application, he has to file for registration at the work place.
  9. Inspection of the venue will once again be conducted by the Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Department.
  10. Lastly, get oneself enrolled with the Malawi Revenue Authority for PAYE and fringe Tax benefits.

Any seven or more persons in case of a public company or, if the company to be formed is a private company, any two or more persons associated for any lawful purpose or may form a company having a share capital or a company limited by guarantee.

It takes between 30,000 to 50,000 Malawian Kwacha to apply for an incorporation of business in Malawi.

ValidityEdit

A business incorporation certificate in Malawi is valid for one year.
