Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To Transfer Autorickshaw Permit in Maharashtra the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office: link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant can download the application form from the following link link
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. The processing time for this procedure takes up to 10 - 15 days.

Documents required in case of Death

• Completed Application form Tr.P.A.
• Aadhaar Card
• Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
• Fitness Certificate.
• Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
• Insurance Certificate.
• Death Certificate in relation to the permit holder.
• Copy of the letter in which the death of the permit holder was intimated to the competent Authority.
• An affidavit to the effect that other members of the family do not have any objection for the transfer of the vehicle and the permit in respect thereof to the applicant, duly attested by a notary should be submitted.
• Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  
  

Documents required in case of New Vehicle

• Original permit.
• Completed Application form Tr.P.A.
• Registration Certificate of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
• Fitness Certificate of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
• Insurance Certificate in respect of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
• Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
• Proof of payment of tax for of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle the current quarter.
  

(If the existing vehicle under stoppage, it need not have valid F.C., valid I.C., and it need not be covered by payment of tax for the current quarter provided the stoppage is genuine).
