- Informing it to the local authorities who are meant for recording such events – In case of birth in house.
- Regular update of hospital maintained registers by medical record officer - If the birth takes place at a dispensary/hospital.
- If the registration is made after 21 days, then applicant has to provide additional documents as provided under required document section along with penalty.
Apply In-Person :
- To Obtain a Birth certificate the applicant has to approach the respective state Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department

- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
Apply Through Mobile App
- To Obtain a Birth certificate, the applicant can make the application via RTS Maharashtra app link
- After installing the app, click on “Getting Started” and “select language” to start the application.
- Then the applicant has to click the “Rural Development” menu and select “Birth Certificate” and read the instruction and click “Apply”.
- Next the applicant has to enter the user ID and password and click “Login Now. If the applicant doesn’t have an account the applicant can click on “Register Now” and register an account.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Review the application and click “Submit”
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be displayed. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
- All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- The applicant can check the status of the application by clicking on “Track” menu by entering the department and application ID.

- To Obtain a Birth certificate, the applicant has to approach nearby Common Service Center (CSC) Link
- Note: The applicant has to select their state, district and block from the drop-down menu or the applicant can click on their respective district to find nearby center.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant has to provide their details to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The applicant has to attach or provide the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (If required).
- Submit the completed application, document and applicable fees to the centre staff.
- Application submitted will be processed and receipt with application number will be issued.
- The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.

- click on “citizen login” to login or use “New user? register here…” option to create new user account. Once it is created, log in using username and password.
- In the given page after login, search for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and click on it. Then click on “Birth Certificate” to reach respective page.
- Then fill necessary information required for application, then uploading required document.
- Follow the screen prompt to apply online.
- User will get an acknowledgement. Keep it safe for future reference.
- Applicant will get certificate upon notification.
Required DocumentsEdit
- If the birth takes place at a dispensary/hospital, the register record is enough.
- Address proof (Voter ID, Driving License etc.) of parents
- Aadhaar Card of Parents
- If the birth takes place at a house, the citizen has to approach the local body (with address and Aadhar as stated above) and inform in writing. Then it will be verified & the certificate will be issued as applicable.

- Certificate of Doctor OR Hospital discharge certificate.
- In case of delayed registration (after applicable period as per state norms), an affidavit from judicial magistrate / Notary (as advised) as applicable is required (indicating the date and place of birth, names of parent and evidence of the event of birth).
- In the event of a failure to register a birth within the stipulated period of 21 days, one has to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC).
- In case you have applied after a month but within a year you have to obtain permission from the authorities as advised.
- In case applied after one year, need to obtain judicial order from a Magistrate and copy of the said order is required to be attached with the prescribed application form.
- If there is no record for birth from hospital, then the village head / Regional Councillor / MLA / MP / MBS Certificate of signature and stamp with any one of the doctor should be submitted
