Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Link Aadhaar Card to Mutual Funds, the applicant has to approach the respective mutual fund office.
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned branch bank. (If required)
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. There is no fee for Linkingan Aadhaar Card to Mutual Funds.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status and link process completion will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
10. This entire process can be completed within a week or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Apply Through email

1. To Link Aadhaar Card to Mutual Funds, the applicant has to approach the respective mutual fund office website online.
2. Under the 'Contact Us' option on the website, the applicant must check for the official e-mail address of the mutual fund office.
3. Then, they have to compose the email along with the mutual fund number and their Aadhaar number requesting the concerned officer to link the Aadhaar Card with the respective Mutual Funds.
4. The applicant has to attach the scanned virtual copy of their Aadhaar Card along with the email and then click on 'Send' option.
5. There is no fee for this procedure.
6. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
7. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status and link process completion will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number or as a reply to the same e-mail sent by them.
8. This entire process can be completed within a week or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Appy through SMS

1. To Link Aadhaar Card to Mutual Funds, the applicant has to approach the respective mutual fund office through SMS.
2. Type a message in the format of ADRLNK<space>and the applicant PAN<space>and the Aadhaar<space>Y.
3. Send the SMS to +91 9212993399
4. The officer will check the process by the given Aadhaar number.
5. All the updates on the application status and link process completion will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.

• All holders of mutual funds, first holders, joint holders, guardians (for minors), Power of Attorney (POA) holders, or donors (Children’s schemes), have to furnish their Aadhaar.
• NRIs do not have to link their mutual funds with Aadhaar as they are not eligible for Aadhaar.
• Residents of Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya are also exempted from Aadhaar seeding.
• In the case of non-individuals such as firms, companies, etc., all authorized signatories have to submit their Aadhaar details.
• In the case of investments done by HUFs, the karta of the family has to link the Aadhaar card.

Validity

• Linking Aadhaar Card to Mutual Funds is valid forever.

• As per the Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017, Asset Management and Mutual Fund Companies have to collect Aadhaar number of people, verify the details with UIDAI and link all mutual funds with Aadhaar.
